2023
– On January 18, 2023, the EBRD and IFC transferred all of their shares in the Company’s capital to Akfen Holding and exited the partnership, making Akfen Holding the sole stakeholder of the Company.
– The Company’s shares with a total nominal value of 340,370,703 TL (33.5% of the capital) were offered to the public in March 2023. As of March 16, 2023, publicly traded company shares began trading on Borsa Istanbul under the symbol “AKFYE.”
2022
– EMRA decided to allocate 320 MWe / 660Mwh storage capacity to the Company as independent storage in 7 locations prior to 19.11.2022. According to Board decisions, the storage capacity in question will be registered in the license after the EIA document is received.
– A Share Transfer Agreement was signed on 15.12.2022, stating that the EBRD and IFC will transfer all of their shares in the Company’s capital to Akfen Holding.
– As of 28.12.2022, all of the shares of Kurtal, which operates Cicekli HEPP, were transferred to an unrelated third party by Akfen Renewables.
2021
– Due to the flood in Artvin in July 2021, Çiçek HEPP was severely damaged and all of its activities Çiçek HEPP were suspended.
– In 2021, an application was made to EMRA for an additional capacity expansion of 92.48 MWe regarding WPPs in operation. The required permits for all the projects applied for were obtained and the licensed capacity was increased to 92.48 MWe.
2020
– IOTA M.Fırıncı SPP(12,97 MWm) achieved COD on 14 August, 2020.
– As a result of the capital increase transaction completed on February 17, 2020, Akfen Renewable Energy’s total capital increased to TL 1,016,031,947.00. In this context, Akfen Holding’s share was 66.91%, EBRD’s share was 17.10%, and IFC’s share was 15.99%.
– As of February 5, 2020, Akfen Renewable Energy’s subsidiary İmbat Enerji A.Ş., Sarıtepe and Demirciler WPP in Osmaniye with a total installed power of 80.3 MW, owned by Zorlu Rüzgar Enerjisi Elektrik Üretimi A.Ş. has added to Akfen Renewable Energy’s portfolio by completing the acquisition process.

– Within the framework of structuring of Akfen Holding energy group companies; The merger process of Akfenhes and Akfenres and change of title to Akfen Renewable Energy Inc. were completed as of 1.19.2016. The transfer process of Akfen Wholesale, a subsidiary of Akfen Holding, to Akfen Renewable Energy was completed as of 25.01.2016. Laleli Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., a subsidiary of Akfen Renewable Energy, was transferred to Akfen Thermal Energy Investments Inc., a subsidiary of Akfen Holding, on 25.01.2016. The merger process of Karine SPP and Akfen Renewable Energy was completed as of 09.03.2016.
– According to the agreements Akfen Holding signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and International Finance Corporation (IFC), both companies will be partners to Akfen Renewable Energy by participating in the capital up to the share ownership rate of 16.667% and by paying US$100 million. As a result of the capital increase registration on 12 July 2016, EBRD and IFC transferred to the company US$44,444,444 that is equivalent to 5% of the shares each. In October 2016, SOLENTEGRE SPP (8 MW) became operational. This project was the first licensed SPP project launched in Turkey.
2015
– In December 2015, a US$100 million partnership agreement was signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for 20% of the shares of the company (Akfen Renewable Energy), which operates in the field of renewable energy and which consists of Akfenhes, Akfenres, Akfen Wholesale, and also Karine SPP following its transfer to the Holding.
– In May 2015, Denizli SPP Projects (total 7,42 MW) became operational.
– In July 2015, the acquisition of the shares of companies investing in solar and thermal energy was decided in order to expand the energy portfolio. The process related to the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Karine Enerji, which owns 29.75% of the shares of Akfen Thermal Energy and has investments in solar energy, was initiated.
– In October 2015, an additional 40% of the shares of Adana İpekyolu was acquired.
– In September 2015, Sekiyaka II HEPP 2 project with an installed capacity of 1.09 MW was launched.
